Ally McCoist has launched a blistering attack on the Daily Record- the newspaper that he was a columnist for a decade ago.
Speculation over the future of Alex McLeish was the source of the anger with the health of the Scotland manager a particular concern.
On Thursday morning the Daily Record claimed that McLeish would be gone within 24 hours but that deadline came and went without any announcement.

Yesterday afternoon the word from within the SFA was that they had no plans to meet with McLeish but there was no denial that the Scotland manager’s job was under threat.
The Record are standing by their story this morning with McCoist angered at the open discussion about the health of a former international team-mate.
Now reveling in his life in the media McCoist should be grateful for the soft line that the Glasgow based publisher took in relation to his failings in football management.
The old Ibrox regimes, all personally endorsed by McCoist, took the bulk of the criticism with McCoist slipping out the door onto 12 months gardening leave with barely a word of criticism about a host of shambolic decisions and signings while in the lower reaches of the Scottish game.
