Alfredo Morelos has claimed that the club from Ibrox rejected offers for him from Italy, Spain, France and England during the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old is the most sell-able asset at Ibrox but any claims of interest in the striker have originated from within Scotland.

In January 2018 there were claims of £10m plus bids coming in from China but nothing emerged in the Chinese media other than reports of reports from Scotland!

It was a similar story this January with a claim that Nice wanted Morelos to replace Mario Balotelli but the claim barely surfaced in the French media as the transfer window closed with the Colombian picking up his fourth red card of the season in a stormy match at Aberdeen.

Today The Sun reports:

And, in an interview with Colombian TV station Caracol’s ‘Gol’ sports programme, Morelos revealed he could have left Rangers in the last transfer window.

He said: “I had proposals from Italy, Spain, France and England, but the manager told me that I will stay.

“But I wanted to take the opportunity to continue learning under the leadership of a legend like Steven Gerrard.

“For me, my main aim is to play for the national team and hopefully play in the Copa America this summer.

“For that, I have to keep working hard for Rangers and wait until the summer to see if there is a way out.

Since joining the Ibrox club in the summer of 2017 Morelos has signed two new contract extensions but still trails far behind Steve Davis and Jermain Defoe in the wages table.
