Alfredo Morelos has escaped any retrospective punishment for lashing out at Kirk Broadfoot during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock at Ibrox.

Word emerged at 3pm from the SFA to their trusted media partners that no action would be taken against either player. Match referee Greg Aitken missed the incident as he picked up the match ball after blowing for half-time.

Morelos is now free to face Celtic on March 31 provided he comes through two international friendlies for Colombia unscathed.

Morelos has picked up four red cards this season but escaped unpunished from the December Glasgow derby despite a range of attacks on Scott Brown, Tony Ralston and Ryan Christie.

Transfer speculation, almost exclusively originating from Scotland has never been far away since the mysterious Chinese rumours at the start of 2018.

Links to Leicester City, Borussia Dortmund and Eintract Frankfurt have quickly blown over in recent weeks with reports today claiming that Fenerbahce are preparing a summer offer.
