Neil Lennon has absolved Scott Brown from the clamour to get the hoops skipper retrospectively punished after a clash with St Mirren’s James Kellerman.
Midway through the second half of Celtic’s 2-0 win over the Paisley side the two players clashed in the centre of the park.
Kellerman reached out a hand to pull Brown to the ground, as he shook that aside his momentum took him into the grounded Kellerman with contact made.
BT Sport were on top of the incident immediately with ‘their VAR referee’ claiming that it deserved a straight red card.
“I don’t want pyrotechnics in the stadium, I don’t see what purpose it serves.”
“Please don’t bring them, it’s just not necessary.”

The Brownie one is totally accidental, it’s not deliberate at all. It’s not like he has raised his foot. It’s just on the follow-through from the tackle.
As for the elbow, it might be a bit different but I’m not refereeing. I’m not judge and jury so I’ll let other people decide.”
The second incident that Lennon refereed to was Duckens Nazon elbowing Kris Ajer shortly after the Brown and Kellerman clash.
SFA Compliance Officer Clare White can expect to be inundated with calls to get Brown suspended.
Last night’s results finalised the top six with the SPFL expected to announce the post split fixtures early next week with all eyes on the timing of the final Glasgow derby at Ibrox.
