Derek McInnes is looking forward to his hearing in front of the SFA on May 3.
The Aberdeen boss was ordered from the technical area during his side’s 3-0 Scottish Cup semi-final defeat from Celtic at Hampden earlier this month.
Responding to a question at his post-match media conference McInnes said that the gesture was a reaction to sectarian chants from Celtic supporters and that he would accept his punishment.
The SFA offered the Dons boss a one match touchline ban for his reaction but on reflection McInnes wants to challenge the punishment.
The Evening Express report him saying:
I am actually looking forward to the hearing and hearing what has to be said. I have a few things I want to say myself.
On the day, I was disappointed I reacted. There have been other instances when managers have reacted and there have not been sending-offs or hearings.
On Sunday McInnes takes his side to Ibrox with Celtic visiting Pittodrie the day after his Hampden appearance.
