During the closing stages of the Betfred Cup Final defeat to Celtic Lewis Ferguson lost the plot with Mikael Lustig the target for his anger.
Midway through the second half of today’s Scottish Cup defeat from Celtic the Dons midfielder was given a straight red card for a brutal two footed attack on Tom Rogic.

Ferguson had amazingly avoided any disciplinary action during a first half littered with late fouls on Celtic players.
With his side losing 2-0 and the prospect of a Scottish Cup Final appearance disappearing out of sight the former Hamilton midfielder went in late and two footed on Rogic right in front of referee Craig Thomson.
A red card was the only option for the crude and dangerous challenge.
Leaving his team-mates down to nine men it was a case of damage limitation with Rogic adding Celtic’s third soon after Ferguson had been dismissed.
