Neil Lennon was in lively form this morning as he faced the media ahead of Sunday’s clash with Hearts.
Tweets from the conference formed the first views with an emphasis on the criticism that has flowed Celtic’s way since Sunday’s derby defeat at Ibrox.
Soon after, the stories started to flow which concentrated on Lennon ‘hitting back at the critics’ and how social media was shaping the agenda.
The mainstream media wasn’t excused with whoever claimed that Celtic had ‘stuttered over the finishing line’ getting a double mention in the early part of the interview.
Lennon then went on to discuss the new breed of supporters which was a mix of the social media ‘experts’ and the millennium fans who missed out on the darkest days of the nineties.
Despite the negative tone of the reports from the conference Lennon appears bright and upbeat, looking ahead to another trophy presentation followed six days later by a cup final and the prospect of a Treble Treble.
As one reporter to steer Lennon down a certain line he smiled as he mentioned the word statement, a reference to the latest furious comments from Ibrox with the hoops caretaker mentioning that Celtic are above that.
