Celtic have been linked with what appears to be a highly unlikely move for Fikayo Tomori.

The Chelsea defender has been on loan at Derby County this season, making 54 appearances including both legs of the play-off victory over Leeds United.

With two years to run on his contract Chelsea remain firmly in control of Tomori’s destiny with a number of English sides bound to be interested in the 21-year-old on the back of his form with Derby.

The Mirror reports:

Celtic are plotting a move to land Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori this summer.

The England Under-21 defender has had a very impressive season on loan at Derby, helping Frank Lampard’s side reach the Championship play-off finals.

And that has sparked interest from the Hoops, who are keen to see if a permanent deal can be done.

With Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic almost certain to be leaving Celtic are in the market for at least one central defender ready to start the season on July 9/10 in the first round of the Champions League qualifiers.

Kris Ajer will be involved in international football until June 11 which leaves Jack Hendry and Jozo Simunovic as the only first team central defenders available for the first pre-season game on June 26 against SC Pinkafeld.
