Timo Weah is available for the Scottish Cup Final against Hearts on May 25 AND the u-20 World Cup for the USA.
5.30pm UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The on loan forward has made 15 appearances since joining Celtic in January from Paris Saint Germain but it looked like he would miss out on the cup final due to international commitments.
Goal reports:
Weah will miss the U.S. team’s opening World Cup match, on May 24 against Ukraine as he prepares to play in the Scottish Cup final on May 25 with Celtic. He will look to join the U.S. team after that match, and could be available for the U.S. team’s group match against Nigeria on May 27.
Twenty four hours before the Hampden showdown the USA take on the Ukraine in their opening match at the u-20 World Cup Finals in Poland but the American Federation have delayed Weah’s arrival in order for him to be involved at Hampden.
That approach is in stark contrast to the Australian Federation who insisted in flying Tom Rogic to the UAE a week ahead of a friendly match in January that resulted in him missing out on the December Glasgow derby.
Weah started Celtic’s title clincher at Aberdeen last Saturday and appears to be in a three way battle with Scott Sinclair and Jonny Hayes for a starting place at Hampden.
