Andy Robertson has trashed a claim suggesting that he was encouraging Kieran Tierney to quit Celtic for England.

A report on the highly influential Anfield HQ, an independent website with 300,000 twitter followers, suggested that Tierney had been influenced by the Liverpool left back to move south with Arsenal strongly linked with the Celtic defender.

Since the weekend there has been a feeding frenzy imploring Tierney to quit Celtic to join a club that pays Mesut Ozil £300,000 a week in wages.

Having grown up and come through the ranks at Celtic it’s difficult to imagine Tierney feeling at home in the cosmopolitan Arsenal dressing room where most players are collecting £100,000/week with no prospect of winning any worthwhile trophy.

Since moving to The Emirates stadium more than a decade ago Arsenal have celebrated two FA Cup wins with playing in the Champions League becoming a distant memory.

With a reported transfer budget of £40m available this summer manager Unai Emery is unlikely to be able to replace te departed Aaron Ramsay never mind make inroads towards lifting a trophy or finishing in the top four of the EPL.
