Alfredo Morelos’ dream move to Eintract Frankfurt has gone the same way as his £11m transfer to China.

As the last 18 months has proven there is no interest in the 12th best striker in Colombia despite constant chat from inside Ibrox about resisting offers.

Unfortunately Steven Gerrard gave the game away after the May defeat at Kilmarnock when he said that the only offer that he had received was for 3m euros.

Gerrard’s summer spending plans are dependent on bringing in a fee in the region of £20m for the striker which will also help pay off the loan from Close Brothers and compensation to Sports Direct.

It’s highly unlikely that Eintracht ever took more than a sideways glance at the striker who picked up five red cards this season with The Sun reporting:

it no longer looks likely the Rangers star, 23, will be heading to Germany this summer. According to the Daily Express, Eintracht have been told that Morelos is targeting a move to the Premier League.

The Colombian would reportedly consider other top European leagues but wants to play Champions League football. Eintracht missed out on a spot in the Europa League group stages on the final day of the Bundesliga season.

With just three international caps totalling up to less than 90 minutes it’s unlikely that Morelos would get a work permit to play in England should there be a club willing to sign him.

Last week it was reported in Colombia that the striker was available for £5m.
