Taking a break from their never ending battles with Sports Direct the Ibrox legal team were in Edinburgh yesterday defending the decision to bin a contract with Memorial Walls.

Last year it was announced that a memorial garden would be created at Ibrox where fans could charge their mobile phones, pay respect to their deceased and be surrounded by images of former favourite players.

The plan was greeted with dignified glee across social media and a masterstroke by Mr King while the company continues to run up massive losses.

On the quiet the plan was binned with the Memorial Walls company forced to go to court to reclaim the £1m that they had invested in the project.

The Daily Record reports:

English-based firm Memorial Walls has raised a damages claim againstRangers FC after it pulled out of the proposed venture.

Gavin MacColl QC, for the firm, told the Court of Session in Edinburgh that it was a breach of contract case but the breach was admitted, with outstanding issues of causation and the level of damages remaining.

Mr MacColl told judge Lord Bannatyne that there will be an amendment brought to reduce the sum sued for in the claim.

No date has been set for a procedural hearing for the action.
