Celtic have been handed a pre-season boost with Ewen Cameron confidently predicting that the SPFL title is Ibrox bound with Neil Lennon likely to be sacked before Christmas.

The former STV2 frontman claims to be Hearts daft but seems more obsessed by events involving the eight in a row champions than at his beloved Tynecastle.

A year ago Cameron confidently predicted that there was no way that Celtic would win a treble but failed to suggest where Craig Levein’s men would be when the honours were being handed out.

Cameron was hosting Radio Clyde’s Superscoreboard programme alongside Hugh Keevins and couldn’t wait to get started on his favourite subject.

The Sun reports his bold prediction:

Celtic won’t win a treble again. That’s it, it’s gone. The treble Treble is done. It’s not going to happen. They might win a cup but they won’t win the league.

Rangers will stop them winning nine-in-a-row. I’m making that bold prediction tonight here on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.

Celtic will not win the league under Neil Lennon and I’ll tell you another thing, he might not last till Christmas.

Cameron seems to be picking up on the glee at Ibrox over the appointment of Lennon, the last time the fans celebrated so much was when Graeme Murty’s lions were drawn against Celtic in the semi-final of the 2018 Scottish Cup.

While Lennon goes about strengthening the Treble Treble winners it seems that Steven Gerrard will have to rely on selling James Tavernier or Alfredo Morelos to bring players in with doubts expressed over whether Kyle Lafferty, Graham Dorrans, Borna Barisic and Eros Grezda will have a role to play next season.

Celtic begin pre-season training a fortnight today with their first competitive match coming on July 9/10 in the first qualifying round of the Champions League. The draw for the first two rounds takes place on June 18.
