Scott Brown has been given the go-ahead to resume full training.

The Celtic skipper suffered a broken toe during the title clincher against Aberdeen at Pittodrie with only his strength of his character seeing him through the Scottish Cup Final win over Hearts a month ago.

Twelve years after signing from Hibs Brown is as influential as ever on the Celtic side and a trusted ally for Neil Lennon to sound off with.

The Daily Record reports:

Meanwhile Lennon has insisted skipper Scott Brown will be fit for Europe after recovering from the toe injury suffered towards the end of last season. Lennon said: “Scott saw a specialist on Thursday and he’s been given the green light to start training.”

Brown led the Celtic squad to Austria yesterday but it’s unlikely that he will feature in tomorrow’s pre-season friendly against Pinkafeld.

All of the players fitness will be geared towards the July 9 clash away to FK Sarajevo which falls less than a month after Callum McGregor and James Forrest were on international duty for Scotland against Belgium.

Olivier Ntcham won’t be joining up with his team-mates until they return to Scotland, last night the midfielder helped France to reach Thursday’s semi-final of the u-21 European Championship Finals following a 0-0 draw with Romania.
