Kieran Tierney has returned to Scotland to continue his rehabilitation.

The defender flew out with Celtic to Austria on Monday to work with the club’s medical team but is back in Glasgow rather than moving on to Switzerland for Tuesday’s match against St Gallen.

Arsenal have been trying to drum up interest in a cut price deal for the defender but a month after undergoing surgery for a double hernia Celtic are still waiting for a date for their star defender to return to action.

After revealing that Tom Rogic would miss both legs of the Champions League qualifiers against FK Sarajevo due to ankle and knee problems Lennon told The Sun: “Kieran has gone back home too, to finish off his rehab.”

Johnny Hayes and Andrew Gutman played at left back in today’s 2-1 win over SC Wiener but Gutman is expected to return to the USA after Tuesday’s match against St Gallen.

Luca Connell can play at left back with the Celtic medical staff set to check up on the former Bolton teenager who is now with the hoops in Austria.

No fresh injuries were reported after today’s match which saw Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Issouf Bayo scoring for the visitors in the second half after Wiener had opened the scoring.
