Eboue Kouassi is back to full fitness after suffering a cruciate injury in October.

The midfielder was a £2m signing by Brendan Rodgers in January 2017 after apparently being spotted by Lee Congerton although he didn’t join the club until two months later.

A bout of Malaria immediately set Koassi back with first team opportunities limited by the summer arrival of Olivier Ntcham.

The 21-year-old made five top team appearances last season but that came to a halt at Murrayfield when he overstretched in the Betfred Cup semi-final win over Hearts.

Discussing injuries, Neil Lennon told the Daily Record:

Mikey Johnston has come back to training, Marian Shved is back, Vakoun Issouf Bayo, Eboue Kouassi, so we’ve a bit more strength in depth. Whether they feature or not is another thing.

Kouassi’s injury against Hearts led to Ryan Christie getting his Celtic chance although it was Ntcham that the former Caley Thistle midfielder replaced at half time.

With Ewan Henderson, Nir Bitton and Luca Connell all featuring in pre-season matches Kouassi will have his work cut out making in-roads into the first team with a loan likely to give the midfielder game time.
