Hopes that yesterday’s ‘silver and pink combo’ was a wind-up of the Celtic third kit for the new season have been killed off by Footy Headlines.

The respected website has the reputation for getting things spot on when it comes to new kits with a track record on Celtic and New Balance kits.

Predominantly grey, the logos on the Celtic 2019-2020 third jersey are pink, including a monochrome rendition of the club badge, and matched by a chevron that’s placed very far down the front.

Almost unanimously the new look kit has been slammed by online supporters with few if any redeeming features.

In the 2016/17 season Celtic wore a mainly pink third top which was apparently a reference to the colour of the match ticket for the 1967 European Cup Final.

The change kit is now available to purchase which has been labelled as a tribute to the 2003 away kit worn in Boavista as the hoops reached the UEFA Cup Final in Seville.

The grey and pink kit will be officially unveiled at the Celtic Festival later this month at the SECC, unless Kieran Tierney uses the launch to announce a new ten year contract it’s difficult to imagine the kit being given anything other than a lukewarm welcome.
