Ewen Cameron is getting closer to finding peace in himself by admitting that Hearts aren’t his real footballing love.

A year ago, still feeling the excitement of being trackside with Steven Gerrard, the DJ announced on twitter that there was no chance of a Treble Treble for Celtic.

Hearts content seems far from his mind, during a recent stint hosting the phone-in on Radio Clyde he predicted that the 2020 SPFL flag would fly over Ibrox with Neil Lennon likely to be sacked before Christmas.

With Cameron’s track record Lenny has little to worry about. Yesterday another tried and tested Scottish based manager was the target for the ‘Anger of a Jambo’.

Managing a club that complies with FFP and a fifth of the budget on offer at Ibrox is quite a handicap in Scottish football but three times in Glasgow last season Derek McInnes took his side to Glasgow to hand out lessons to Mr Gerrard.

At Hampden in October a 1-0 win was enough to book a place in the final of the Betfred Cup, six weeks later on the back of losing that final to Celtic the Dons won 1-0 at Ibrox despite playing the majority of the match with 10 men.

For added fun in February the Dons won 2-0 at Ibrox in a replayed Scottish Cup tie to bring the curtain down on Gerrard’s first season.

On his football podcast Cameron couldn’t disguise his pain at McInnes’ success over his poster boy, on Football Daft he ranted:

He didn’t go to Rangers because he bottled it. He’s a bottle merchant. He isn’t a big club manager. He knows he isn’t a big club manager, Derek McInnes knows his place. It turns out, in my opinion, that Rangers actually dodged a bullet with Derek McInnes.

Why? Because Aberdeen have won one trophy during that spell and that was when Rangers were on a world tour of Scotland, playing the likes of Peterhead. Hearts and Hibs were in the Championship and still Aberdeen could win just one trophy when those three teams were playing in the lower leagues.

Since the return of Hearts, Hibs and Rangers, Aberdeen have found themselves going from second to fourth in the league behind Rangers and Kilmarnock.”

In 1986 two late goals from Albert Kidd denied a young Ewen the chance to celebrate a title win however the appointment of Graeme Souness at Ibrox was soon to ease his pain.
