Angelo Alessio refused to discuss Greg Taylor after watching his side beat St Johnstone 1-0.

Born-again goal machine Stephen O’Donnell scored the only goal- the former Celt has scored all (both) of Kilmarnock’s SPFL goals this season but it was the absence of Taylor that provided one of the talking points.

On Thursday Alessio went into some detail about Taylor, going as far as admitting that joining Celtic would be a good career move for the 21-year-old.

Talks to take the defender to the SPFL champions are believed to be at an advanced stage but after today’s match Allesio was less co-operative with BBC Scotland.

Asked about defender Greg Taylor’s impending move to Celtic, the Italian politely says: “I just want to talk about the match.”

Taylor missed last week’s 0-0 draw with Aberdeen due to a hamstring knock and is rated a doubt for next weekend’s Scotland double header against Russia and Belgium.

It had been suggested that Killie were holding out for a £3m transfer fee but an offer in the region of £2m plus a Celtic player going out on loan could seal the move.
