Fraser Forster is reported to be signing for Celtic today!
An injury to Scott Bain has opened the door for the return of Craig Gordon but after being put in front of the media yesterday the former Hearts keeper looks certain to return to the bench.
Gordon took over when Forster was sold to Southampton five years ago but the return of the former England keeper won’t be just to compete for a place.
The Sun reports:
FRASER FORSTER will have a medical at Celtic today ahead of a stunning return to Parkhead. The Scottish champions have agreed a deal with Southampton for the goalkeeper to rejoin the club he left five years ago.
Forster lost his place as first choice keeper at Southampton 18 months ago but is under contract until June 2021.
The Sun report doesn’t indicate if he is joining Celtic on loan or on a permanent basis.
Bain reported a dislocated thumb after the defeat against Cluj but at the time Neil Lennon discounted bringing in a new goalkeeper.
Lennon twice signed Forster on loan from Newcastle before making the move permanent in 2012 with the keeper going on to win his first England cap while playing for Celtic.
