Celtic have got 24 hours to deliver on Neil Lennon’s transfer expectations.

Transfer business has been slow over the three months of the window with Lennon content with activity insisting that bringing in the right player is more important than signing someone in response to criticism.

Since the Champions League campaign kicked off away to FK Sarajevo the only new arrival has been Hatem Abd Elhamed who ironically seems to have settled in quicker than the two other new signings.

There is a week left in the window but Sunday at Ibrox will be the deadline that many supporters are setting for their side, not midnight the following day when the window is gently eased over.

After the disastrous business last summer and again in January a big statement was expected this summer but so far only further grumbling and unrest has been reported alongside a handy £13m transfer surplus.

After the 3-1 win over Hearts the Daily Record reported Lennon saying:

We need players in two or three positions. Hopefully we can get some quality bodies in on Monday or Tuesday. If we do, I’d like to take them to Sweden with us to integrate them with the group if they have an opportunity to play next weekend.

It appears that transfer business is the responsibility of Peter Lawwell and Nicky Hammond, their success or otherwise will be on tomorrow’s plane to Stockholm.
