Hatem Abd Elhamed is expected to be in the Celtic squad that flies to Romania today.

The defender only lasted 50 minutes of his debut against St Johnstone on Saturday before being forced off with a dead leg.

After the match Neil Lennon was hopeful that his new right-back would shrug off the knock in time to feature against Cluj tomorrow night.

The Sun reports:

HATEM ABD ELHAMED hopes to recover from a dead leg in time for the Cluj clash. The Israeli right-back was forced off during his debut against St Johnstone on Saturday but SunSport understands Elhamed expects to be on the Hoops’ flight to Romania.

Tony Ralston replaced Elhamed against St Johnstone but isn’t likely to be in contention for a starting place against Cluj.

The return of Christopher Jullien and Jozo Simunovic from domestic suspensions will allow Kris Ajer to move to right-back if the former Hapoel Be’er Sheva defender isn’t 100% match fit for a European tie.

Lennon’s squad will train at Celtic Park today before flying to Romania with the hoops boss having a number of selection options with only Tom Rogic and Kieran Tierney missing out through injury.

Elhamed replaced Daniel Arzani in the squad registered with UEFA for the Cluj ties.
