Scott Bain has a dislocated thumb but could be back in training next week.

Craig Gordon will start tomorrow’s Betfred Cup tie against Dunfermline but any move into the transfer market will be dependent on the extent of Bain’s injury.

Bain was at fault for Motherwell’s opening goal last Saturday and didn’t look his usual self on Tuesday when Celtic crashed out of the Champions League.

The former Dundee keeper has barely lost a goal at home to Scottish opponents but had to pick the ball out of the net four times against the Romanian champions.

Gordon looks like retaining his place for next week’s Europa League Play Off against AIK Stockholm with Conor Hazard being promoted onto the bench.

Celtic are unbeaten in domestic cup ties for over three years, enjoying a 100% record, with Lennon determined to keep that going against the Championship side to book a place in the draw for the last eight which takes place on Sunday.
