A club in Scotland is reported to have offered Cluj 3.5m euros for Billel Omrani.

The striker scored twice against Celtic in midweek with the hoops the only Scottish club able to put that sort of bid together unless an unlikely bid for Alfredo Morelos was about to be made.

Omrani came through the ranks at Marseilles before moving to Romania in 2016. In three seasons at Cluj he scored 5, 8, and 6 goals before striking gold at Celtic Park.

Towards the end of last season Neil Lennon claimed that signing a striker was a priority of his transfer plans but so far no additions have been made to that area of the Celtic side.

Leigh Griffiths’ return has been a bonus but there are still question marks over the former Hibs striker with Odsonne Edouard remaining the first choice centre forward.

Vakoun Bayo made a late appearance in the defeat from Cluj but remains untested at Celtic since his transfer in January.

Cluj are highly unlikely to discuss any offers until their Champions League Play Off against Slavia Prague is decided. Thier win over Celtic was worth 4m euros from UEFA with a place in the group phase likely to generate at least 20m euros as well as increase the value of their players.
