Old man Brown will enjoy a well earned holiday while many of his team-mates report for international duty.

The Celtic skipper can look back on a dominant Glasgow derby in which he dominated his opponents on and off the pitch.

Last season Alfredo Morelos, Scott Arfield and Jon Flanagan all crossed the line of professionalism as they enjoyed the novelty of a derby day success over Brown. At the end of the season however it was the Celtic skipper that was the prize guy as he led Celtic to the Treble Treble.

During the summer every second signing at Ibrox seemed to be another wing wizard whether it was Jake Hastie, Greg Stewart, Jordan Jones or Sheyi Ojo.

On Sunday, when he named his team, Steven Gerrard decided to ditch the wingers and concentrate on the midfield battle with Brown swamped by Arfield, Steve Davis, Ryan Jack, Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara.

Brown held his ground and more, he even took on the challenge posed by Morelos when he appeared as a substitute and left the pitch celebrating another derby day success on enemy territory.
