Odsonne Edouard diplomatically sidestepped the question of whether he will be at the club for 10-in-a-row.
It was a questioned that could have trapped the young striker with the bid for an ninth successive title barely started.
With the buffering provided by an interpreter he faced the broadcast media and got a taste for the lines of questioning on the day that Napoli were linked with a £30m move for the striker.
Every player has their price, as Celtic fans have discovered with Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney, with the chances being that the former PSG striker will be the next big money departure with only the timing to be decided.
Looking at the question of TEN The Sun reports:
Celtic supporters are desperate for Edouard to stay at the club and help win ten in a row.But he added: “Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. We still have this season to come and we will see what happens at the end of it. Then we can talk about what might happen after that.
“We’ll see how it goes. Will I be here for that? I have a long contract, so we’ll see. Of course, I’m very aware of how important this is for Celtic. This is my third season here so I have been part of this and I want to be part of it because it’s really important for me as well to achieve that.”
After slipping out of France almost unnoticed two years ago Edouard will be in the spotlight on Thursday against Rennes in the Europa League.
Four goals in two appearances for the French u-21 side has posted a powerful reminder about the Celtic striker despite the riches available to the full national side in that area.
