Odsonne Edouard came off the bench to score two second half goals as the French u-21 side beat Albania 4-0.

After his domineering and goalscoring performance at Ibrox the hoops striker transferred that form onto the international stage. Edouard came on at half-time with France leading 1-0, scoring in the 77th and 89th minutes before Dan Axel Zagadou completed the scoring in stoppage time.

France are so well off for strikers that Moussa Dembele struggles to get into their squad for full internationals. In 2015 Edouard won the Golden Boot and Player of the Tournament award at the u-17 European Championships, scoring 8 of the 15 goals netted by the French including a hat-trick in the final against Germany.

Edouard’s career stalled following an incident involving an air gun while on loan at Toulouse that was him recalled by Paris Saint Germain which led to his loan move to Celtic.

After an outstanding loan season with Celtic the hoops paid a club record fee of £9m to sign the striker in June 2018 with Edouard finishing last season with a double against Hearts in the Scottish Cup Final to clinch the Treble Treble.

With his career back on track there are bound to be stories linking him with a move out of Celtic but any young French striker knows that a move to Celtic is the perfect platform to launch their career.
