Neil Lennon is likely to change more than half of his team for tomorrow’s Betfred Cup tie at home to Partick Thistle.

Moritz Bauer will miss out through injury with Craig Gordon taking over from Fraser Forster but at today’s media conference the hoops boss name checked five players that could be left out.

After 4 minutes Lennon said:

We have to take a steer on games coming up, the likes of Forrest, Brown, McGregor, Christie and Bolingoli, they’ve all been playing a lot of football. We would like to play them in every game but that’s not realistic. There are other players champing at the bit to play as well so we need to try to find the right balance.

After playing twice for the French u-21 side earlier this month Odsonne Edouard is also likely to be in Lennon’s thoughts for a break tomorrow night.

Tom Rogic and Olivier Ntcham are the players most likely to come in for a starting place with both men heavy contributors to the successes of the Treble Treble era.

With Hibs on Saturday completing a spell of three matches in seven days Lennon will be monitoring the fitness of his players closely ahead of next week’s Europa League tie with Cluj.

Christopher Jullien is fit again after his hamstring scare on Sunday but Leigh Griffiths hasn’t fully recovered from the thigh strain that has ruled him out of the last two matches.
