The prospects of Victor Wanyama joining Celtic has been described as a non-starter by Sky Sports.
A deal to join Club Brugge seemed settled more than a week ago but as it dragged on speculation grew that ‘the band might be getting together’ with Neil Lennon and Fraser Forster.
Celtic missed out on David Turnbull at the start of the transfer window but with no other midfielder joining the club hopes rose that Wanyama would be returning to the club he left in 2013 for Southampton.

With a reported salary of £65,000/week on a five year deal it’s highly unlikely that Celtic would match the terms on offer from Brugge while a £13m transfer fee would add 50% to Celtic’s current record.
While the prospects of signing Wanyama seems far fetched it looks like Celtic’s interest in Greg Taylor could go into the evening with no certainty that the transfer of the left-back will be completed.
