Neil Lennon has confirmed that adding a striker is his January transfer priority.

The Celtic boss was busy up until the last minute of the summer transfer window and has his squad packed with quality.

Odsonne Edouard has been the only available striker for much of the season to date with Lennon wary of being too reliant on the young Frenchman.

Vakoun Bayo and Leigh Griffiths have started two SPFL  matches so far this season but Griffiths is now returning to match fitness and should feature increasingly during the hectic December schedule.

WHEN YOU SAY STRENGTHEN FRONT LINE, IS THAT ON THE RADAR OR ACTIVE THOUGHT PROCESS (7 min)

Probably the latter, active thought process. If you are going well and you’re in a position to improve it’s always good to look to improve. In terms of midfield and wide men we are well covered, we did good business defensively with the players that we brought in, goalkeeping area we are really strong as well. So maybe just look to that forward line, just look to strengthen that.

If the eventuality of Bayo or something happens to Odsonne or Leigh is still getting upto speed maybe having another one in there might help.

Last January Celtic brought in Oli Burke and Timo Weah on loan during the January transfer window but neither player made the impact expected or were considered for a permanent deal.

Moi Elyounoussi and Mikey Johnston could play in a central role if required but the medium-term issue is in the summer when Edouard is likely to attract transfer bids and will be at the Olympic Games during the European qualifiers in July and August.
