Whatever direction his career takes Jeremie Frimpong won’t forget the period between the 2019 October and November international breaks.

The 18-year-old made his Celtic debut in September against Partick Thistle in the Betfred Cup but after the October break he was in from the start against Ross County.

A 6-0 win over the highlanders didn’t provide too much of a test of Frimpong defensively but when he was named to start away to Aberdeen his status at the team changed. Suddenly the teenager was ahead of Hatem Abd Elhamed and Moritz Bauer.

Frimpong’s impact on the Celtic side has been mirrored by the reaction he has had from the supporters. The wee guy with the big smile can play a bit and gets stuck in!

After arriving quietly on transfer deadline day, the defender couldn’t have dreamt about how well things have gone for him.

December promises to be a testing month with nine matches in eight days but with a free weekend coming up it looks like Frimpong will be a key figure in Celtic’s plans going into the winter break.
