Dubai based publisher The National has floated the idea of a Glasgow derby in the gulf state in January.
The prospect is certain to be greeted with hilarity by Celtic supporters.

While Celtic have yet to confirm their travel dates, they are without league or cup action after facing Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on December 29 until January 22 as the league enjoys a winter break.
So, it is conceivable that both clubs will be in the UAE at the same time. Could a friendly between the rivals be in the pipeline or will Rangers be facing a local team?
The Old Firm derby is one of the fiercest rivalries in world football and may be deemed unsuitable for what would ultimately be a fitness exercise in which both clubs would be looking to avoid potential injuries.
Celtic haven’t played a friendly against Scottish opposition outside of Scotland since 1994 when they were involved in a tournament in Toronto with Hearts and Aberdeen.
With a ridiculous schedule of fixtures through January the last thing that Lennon will be looking for is a match in Dubai that would turn out to be a free hit in terms of injuring opponents. The winter break ends with a Scottish Cup tie on January 18 followed by a midweek trip to Kilmarnock on January 22.
