Niklas Dorsch will cost Celtic a ‘bargain’ fee of £3.2m according to a report in The Sun.

The midfielder plays for Heidenheim in Bundesliga II and was first linked with a move to Celtic over the weekend.

With three caps for the German u-21 side a move to a leading German side would seem to be the logical progression in his career.

The Sun reports:

CELTIC have been told German starlet Niklas Dorsch is theirs for a bargain £3.2million. The Hoops are among a number of European sides chasing the highly- rated midfielder who plays for Heidenheim in Bundesliga 2.

According to the report Dorsch is looking to complete the season with Heidenheim which would rule out a move in January.

Dorsch came through the Bayern Munich academy set up but left for Heidenheim in 2018 after just one top team appearance for the German champions.

At the age of 21 the midfielder fits the profile of a potential Celtic signing but Germany isn’t a market that the club has explored in the past, preferring to look at Eastern Europe or Scandinavia.

Celtic’s reported interest won’t be doing the player any harm, alerting other German clubs to the availability of an international prospect playing on their doorstep.
