Bnei Yehuda are trying to drum up interest in midfielder Ismaila Soro.

Celtic were credited with an interest in the 21-year-old with the hoops active in Israeli football with Hatem Abd Elhamed, Nir Bitton, Efe Ambrose and Beram Kayal signed over the last decade.

Soro is almost halfway through his three-year contract with Yehuda apparently rating him in the £3m category. With that sort of value there might be some interesting negotiations with his agent when interest from other clubs is discussed.

The Daily Record reports:

Soro has been valued at up to £3 million by his club and their manager, Yossi Abukasis, has revealed they won’t allow him to leave them on the cheap.

He said: “We will only sell Soro if we get an offer which matches our valuation. We know what he is worth. We know there is growing interest in him and a lot of European clubs have watched him, even just this week.”

Soro joined Yehuda last year from Moldovan side FC Saxan after leaving the Ivory Coast as a teenager.

Celtic’s interest in David Turnbull during the summer is confirmation that Neil Lennon is looking to strengthen his midfield options.

The hoops could return to Motherwell next month with a fresh offer and have also been linked with an interest in Stephane Diarra of French Second Division side Le Mans.

Celtic tend to do business on the quiet with clubs talking up interest in players avoided.
