Celtic put their fans through a nerve-wracking evening before edging 2-1 past Hamilton to go two points clear at the top of the SPFL table.

It was a night of high drama as Celtic entered the 90th minute leading Hamilton 1-0 while Steven Gerrard’s challengers were drawing 2-2 away to Aberdeen having been 2-0 up after 30 minutes.

Celtic had struggled to build on Ryan Christie’s 13th minute opener with Accies always posing a threat as supporters watched the action while being aware of events at Pittodrie.

That sinking feeling was all around Celtic Park when Marios Ogboe equalised in the 90th minute with the fourth official having indicated that there would be three added minutes.

At that stage the top two teams were level on points As It Stands but there was still time for Scott Brown to come up with a last gasp winner.

The celebrations at the final whistle told their own story with daylight again at the top of the SPFL table thanks to the drive and goal-scoring ability of the Celtic skipper.
