Eighteen months into his four-year contract Steven Gerrard is about to be offered a two-year extension to his Ibrox deal.
In a typical move ahead of a big match the news has been leaked to the usual sources to relay on without questioning.

With Dave King taking a back seat the leadership of the company is uncertain with no word of a new chairman or detail about the alleged January share issue.
The former Liverpool youth coach has already been told to trim his squad in January as the Ibrox board try to bridge the £10m funding gap highlighted in their 2019 annual report.
That figure made no allowance for the many millions of pounds to be paid out to Sports Direct in January for breach of contract with no retail contract in place for next season.
Since Gerrard took charge in May 2018 the only incoming transfer fees have been for Daniel Candeias and Jos Windass. Bruno Alves, Joe Dodoo, Kyle Lafferty, Graeme Dorrans and Fabio Cardoso have all had their contracts paid up to leave.
