Steven Gerrard came under attack from Ibrox fans as they watched their side lose 2-1 to Hearts at Tynecastle.
An early second half goal from Ryan Kent should have set the visitors up for three points but the club at the bottom of the SPFL Premiership bounced back with goals from Steven Naismith and Liam Boyce to cause a shock.
After the match Gerrard refused to accept any responsibility, telling the club’s TV station that his side had eight passengers. That is the side that he selected to win the points.
Jon Flanagan was picked to replace the injured James Tavernier but was replaced at half-time after being booked and looked badly out his depth.
At the age of 37 Jermain Defoe toiled against the Hearts defence, twice he was given a two yard start racing in on goal but on both occasions a defender was able to recover and get in a blocking tackle.
There was barely a player in blue that got pass marks with captain Connor Goldson falling on his face for the equaliser while Borna Barisic deflected Boyce’s shot past McGregor for the second goal.

With no money to spend in the transfer window Gerrard will need to lift his eight passengers for a run of home matches against Ross County, Aberdeen and Hibs.

Things established today:
– We can’t win comfortably without Alfredo Morelos
– Defoe isn’t a good enough backup
– Polster > Flanagan
– If a team presses high then we crumble
– Ojo is still pish
– Aribo is never a RW
– This team won’t win the title

Buy some quality so we have some depth for the likes of tav and Morelos when they aren’t there fucking unbelievable he thinks the squad is good enough to go all the way today has proved we haven’t

How about learning now that Defoe isn’t a striker who can play on his own? Good start there.

Too many players not mentally strong enough Some of them need a rocket up there arse n need to make the most of when they’re playing

I wish they’d ask him why he puts Ojo on when we need a goal

Still dont believe the fact ojo manages to weasel his way onto the park when we have jones on the bench, not saying it would have changed anything but ojo offers nothing.

Players defo never stepped up & SG made subs early enough imo to expect to see a reaction from the team
Strange really, that early goal should have kicked it off for us
What’s done is done & we were found wanting
New blood would be nice to boost us & the team needs to man up

So another bottle job after the break after going into the break on a high, same for last couple of seasons, too many passengers on that team, not enough depth in squad when missing some big names, another kick in the teeth for the fans,
