John Hartson found his good intentions hi-jacked by Kenny MacIntyre on Radio Scotland last night.
The former Celtic striker was phoned up to share his views on news that Brian Rice of Hamilton had admitted to gambling on football matches and had been charged by the SFA.
Hartson provided an incredible insight into the issue, comparing it with the cancer treatment that almost killed him more than a decade ago. While surgeons saved his life, on an on-going basis the Welshman has to be on guard against gambling, revealing that it was five years since he last placed a bet.
It was fantastic radio with Hartson offering to take Rice to Gamblers Anonymous but revealing that unless the person is prepared to face up to their issues all the help in the world is pointless.
Out of nowhere MacIntyre decided to turn attention to Alfredo Morelos. Hartson stuck to his weekend tweet that he was astonished that his club was astonished by SFA charges following the matches last month against Hibs and Celtic.

After grilling Hartson on that, supported by claims about the laughable ‘Game Over’ gesture, MacIntyre decided to compare that incident to Hartson kicking Eyal Berkavic while training at West Ham.
Hartson responded confidently, he admitted his guilt at the time, took his punishment and is still reminded of it 20 years later.
Listening to @BBCSportsound after the discussions on here. @kennymacsport ambush of John Hartson is shameful.
To then have Derek Ferguson moan about the Morelos issue being discussed 3 weeks later, as though Hartson brought it up.
McIntyre brought it up not Hartson

@kennymacsport Just listened to the podcast to from last night. You are a horrible person . You’re treatment of John Hartson who phoned up to help Brian Rice is disgusting. Judging him from something 25 years ago was bizarre and I hope the bbc bosses are on it.? @BBCSportsound

There is no comparison between something that happened in a training ground incident, that happens at every team, at every level in the country, and the gesture Morelos made to a 50,000 crowd.
To question John Hartson’s morality as @kennymacsport did, is despicable.

Even as @mstewart_23 tried to point out Traynor’s role in this @kennymacsport continues to defend “his” club.
Hartson should knock @kennymacsport out if he gets the chance
