A report from Austria has claimed that Vakoun Bayo wants to go out on loan before the transfer window closes on Friday night.

The striker was signed from Dunajska Streda a year ago but has struggled to make an impact in Scotland, dropping to fourth choice with the signing of Patryk Klimala.

Neil Lennon recently ruled out letting the striker move out on loan but situations can change in the closing days of a transfer window as club’s are forced to finalise their squad for the remainder of the season.

Weltfussball reports:

In January 2019, Rapid was still campaigning for Vakoun Bayo (then Dunajská Streda). He’d rather get away from Celtic today than tomorrow.

Even before Rapid Aliou targeted Badji (now Al-Ahly), the Hütteldorfer were close to acquiring Vakoun Bayo , but were slowed down by the financially stronger Celtic FC . The Ivorian, who has been dissatisfied for a long time, should suddenly be awarded before the transfer window in Scotland closes on Friday.

Bayo has not yet really got going with the Scottish champions and is – if at all – the fourth choice behind Odsonne Édouard, Leigh Griffiths and new acquisition Patryk Klimala. Most recently, the 16-year-old Karamoko Dembélé was preferred as a substitute.

There is no suggestion that Rapid remain interested in Bayo but his record with Streda is bound to interest clubs in that part of the world looking for additional firepower.

Should Celtic send Bayo out on loan this month?

No, we need everyone on stand by

With Klimala joining Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths in the battle for a first team place it’s difficult to see Bayo getting much game time in the months ahead.
