Lazio have again been talking up Odsonne Edouard.

The Italian side got a close-up view of the striker in the autumn when they lost twice to Celtic in the Europa League but the Italian side are flying high domestically and on course for a Champions League place.

With his scoring record for Celtic and the French u-21 side it’s no surprise that clubs in the richest leagues are looking at the hoops striker.

The Sun reports Lazio sporting director Igli Tare saying:

Edouard from Celtic? Yes, I like him, but I haven’t made a move for him. What I would say is that in the transfer market it works like this – when it comes to buying players, I shut up and don’t comment.

In June Football Scotland reported:

Football site LaLazioSiamoNoi (via The Laziali) report that the 21-year-old is being lined up as a potential replacement for Felipe Caicedo, who could be on his way to join Turkish side Galatasaray.

After spending a season on loan Celtic paid Paris Saint Germain £9m in the summer of 2018 to make the move permanent.

By the end of 2018 Edouard was Celtic’s first choice striker with Moussa Dembele sold and Leigh Griffiths needing time away from football.

Celtic will resist any offers this month but with his contract running until 2022 they could be interested in a transfer this summer. Edouard is expected to be in the French Olympic squad this summer, at the same time as UEFA qualifiers.
