Neil Lennon had good news to report on most of his injured players ahead of tomorrow’s match with Kilmarnock.

James Forrest will be missing but should be available to face Kilmarnock while Nir Bitton and Hatem Abd Elhamed should be available again in a few weeks.

Today’s media conference was covered by Celtic TV:

Asked about the fitness of James Forrest, Lennon said:

Well he won’t be available for tomorrow but we are hoping that he will be available for the weekend. Kris Ajer and Mikey Johnston have trained today so they are back in the squad

Q) Ryan is still suspended but injury wise is he fit to come back?

Injury wise he is fine but he has a suspension. Hopefully once the suspension lifts he’ll be available again as well.

Q) Hatem had some positive news?

Yes he had a scan so the injury isn’t as bad as we first thought that it was. I don’t know the length of time on it but it’s not as severe as we first thought because there was a lot of bleeding in the groin area.

Q) What is the position with Nir Bitton’s injury?

He had a scan yesterday and we’re hoping that it will only be a couple of weeks.

News of Christie suggests that he should be available for next Wednesday’s match away to St Johnstone after serving a three match SFA ban for brutality.

The Scotland man was pictured playing a full part in training this morning after picking up a mystery knock during the December Glasgow derby.

Ajer’s availability should see him resume his partnership with Chris Jullien in central defence with Jozo Simunovic loathe to play on a plastic surface.

Moi Elyounoussi seems to have been the only injured player over looked with the on-loan Southampton winger out of action since making a 45 minute appearance in the League Cup Final on December 8.
