Neil Lennon has spoken out about Mikey Johnston’s injured knee.

The winger replaced Leigh Griffiths midway through the second half but suffered a knee injury that required treatment just before Patryk Klimala came on for Odsonne Edouard in the 80th minute.

Johnston then required further treatment with Lennon’s annoyance clear to BT Sport viewers as the winger came off the park leaving Celtic to finish the match with 10 men.

Covering Lennon’s post match interview with BT Sport where he was asked if Johnston should have come off for Klimala the Daily Record reports:

The Hoops boss confirmed: “Probably would have done, yeah. I probably would have got Ryan (Christie) on but he said he was alright.

“There’s a little wobble there in the knee and it’s a concern so I’m hoping it’s not too bad because we could do without another injury, we’ve had plenty over the last few weeks.”

With Sunday’s match on the plastic at Hamilton it is unlikely that Johnston’s knee will be risked.

Mo Elyounoussi remains on the injured list with Daniel Arzani the next option but again with his cruciate injury in mind it may be too much of a risk to play him on plastic.
