It’s been a long slow journey but Moi Elyounoussi looks ready to play his part in the final months of this season.

The on-loan winger was in top form when he picked up a knock that ruled him out of the November international fixtures.

An attempted comeback in the final of the League Cup backfired as he was replaced after 45 minutes with 2019 coming to an early halt.

Over the last few weeks there hasn’t been much in the way of injury updates but after being listed as a substitute at Motherwell in midweek he was named in the starting XI yesterday against Clyde.

It wasn’t the friendliest of conditions but during the second half the Norwegian internationalist showed signs of the form that earned him the October SPFL Player of the Month award.

Celtic will check out Elyounoussi today for any adverse reaction but the signs from Broadwood were positive with the Southampton man ready to play his part as Neil Lennon’s side look to extend their 100% start to 2020.
