The EPL and EFL has postponed all football until next month.

Overnight it was revealed that Mikel Arteta and Callum Hudson-Odio had tested positive for Coronavirus with fears growing that the virus will spread throughout the game. Earlier this morning Everton announced that all players were in self-isolation.

It is now looking increasingly likely that Scotland will follow suit despite the best efforts of the authorities to delay action until Monday- the day after the Glasgow derby.

At Thursday’s 5pm media conference Boris Johnson stopped short of cancelling public gatherings even though it is believed that plans are in place for matches to go ahead behind closed doors and shown live on television.

With UEFA postponing next week’s Champions League and Europa Cup ties Scotland is currently the only nation that is attempting to play professional football over the coming week.

UEFA will host a video conference call on Tuesday to discuss the impact on club competitions and the Euro 2020 Play-Offs which start on March 26 with Scotland scheduled to play Israel.
