Celtic fans have reacted with suspicion to the rumour that the SPFL season will be declared over- with an amnesty for any club going into administration.
A title success for Neil Lennon’s side is virtually inevitable but it’s the other aspects of the rumour that is attracting suspicions.
Going into administration should attract a 15 point reduction but could be offered as a consolation or incentive for the inevitable announcement from Ibrox.
With no Financial Fair Play regulations in place in Scottish football the Going Concern warning in the Ibrox accounts in November weren’t commented on or actioned by the SPFL.
A shortfall of £10m for the season was also projected in the accounts which should have forced a January fire-sale but in Scotland it seems that an Old Firm title battle has to be engineered whatever the cost.
Hearts and Aberdeen have flagged up their financial concerns over the last 10 days but with most banks no longer prepared to offer overdrafts to Scottish clubs there are few debtors around other than directors who have loaned to their clubs on the softest of terms.
Rumour: SPFL to declare season over, celtic winners and any club who goes into administration due to coronavirus will not be docked points.

Wouldn’t that be convenient for some…

I feel the statement writer in Govan sharpening his crayons ….

I’d rather we won it by playing out the season but if that isn’t possible then that’s probably the next best outcome, I can’t even begin to imagine the absolute meltdown in Govan… ?

That’ll suit everyone privately, publicly they’ll rattle their sabres…. for effect

so that could be every club other than celtic going into administration= saving millions & getting No punishment in return?

This would be an awful decision. Allowing clubs to hide behind admin to stiff employees and suppliers is shocking. Every club would use it as an out.

I agree, in normal times. They may need to declare. Pause and start afresh 20/21 season. For they record, I would prefer to win after 38 games. But, there are bigger issues now in the country and world as a whole.

I heard there are 2 teams that could possibly go into Administration this week but they are holding off until SPFL say there will be no deduction of points.
