Tom English has rediscovered his thirst for making Scottish football legislators accountable by calling on Murdoch MacLennan to face the media.
With the best part of 40 years working across a variety on media titles from the Daily Record to The Telegraph there is good reason for the SPFL chairman avoiding a cosy sit down with English.
Despite his efforts with Google History, social media has many examples of how closely the former Scotsman reporter worked with Craig Whyte’s media managers to portray their man in as positive a light as possible- even after the Daily Record had given up on the former billionaire.
The really interesting thing to take from this email, is the collaboration in fabricating a narrative to get a point across.
It’s all staged.“Tom English has said he’ll have a pop at Paul Murray… Scotsman used his comments on the back page with our responses ie. irrelevant.” pic.twitter.com/UQz9KDfDZQ

The events of 2012 are one big mystery for those that relied on English and his newspaper colleagues to keep them posted.
At the start of June RFC RIP and other similar headlines were across the front pages, 140 years of history wiped out as Her Majesty refused the offer of a CVA.
The headlines spread into the opening pages, a few months later the most successful club were in action at Ibrox, led by Lee McCulloch despite legends like Allan McGregor, Steven Naismith, Kyle Lafferty and Steve Davis had walked away but after a quick blip the first half of 2012 was apparently just a bad dream and it was business as usual.
With MacLennan being portrayed as a ‘Rangers Hater’ it seems that English is keen to grill the SPFL chairman. Strangely he has avoided demanding a face-to-face with Neil Doncaster over how an eight-year-old club obtained the honours of an institution now being liquidated.
Equally Ian Maxwell isn’t being called out to explain the 2011 UEFA licence given to a club that refused to pay a £2.8m bill to HMRC. In June 2019 Maxwell said that the SFA couldn’t ‘let it go forever’.
If SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan really wants to answer questions he’d be better off making himself available to journalists for once rather than conducting a Q&A with himself. MM has been a senior media executive for 40 years but is now strangely reluctant to talk to the media

Why? To give the SMSM the opportunity to twist everything to suit your pro Tribute Act agenda?

Let’s talk about Res12.
Tom……why are you running away?

If SPFL Board have duty to investigate claims why did they not act on evidence of dishonesty by Rangers administrators iro LNS Commissiondelivered to the Board in 2014? Why did they then surrender right to investigate to SFA in 2017? Offshore Game provided opportunity u ignored.

Why didn’t you question why they not act on evidence of dishonesty and covered up by usual people in 2012, also EBT’s and 5 way agreement? I remembered that you wanted us to move on didn’t you?

What`s the difference between now and 2012, when we were told to “move on” ?

Cherrypickers United.

A question for you Tom, why did you have Gregory Campbell on Sportsound talking about Scottish Football ?
Scotland has 59 MPs but you invited Campbell on ?
Murdoch MacLennan has at least had a Q and A with himself according to you, over to you with regards to Campbell— Seamus Mor (@seamusmor1) April 28, 2020
That’s right tom Journalists done such a great job holding the Scottish fiba to account during the liquidation of rangers and the fallout from that.5 way agreement?Same club? Move on for the sake of Scottish football. You do know we all still remember what went on.Don’t you???

I’m waiting on you uploading your chat with Douglas ‘Chineck’ Park, or even better Stewart Robertson, he would be most likely the best informed person on the matter in Scotland.

Ah, the great crusading journalist speaks. Redolent of Woodward & Bernstein, Tom’s on the trail of these wrongdoers, pity that he’s been posted missing since 2012…..
