Any stranger looking in on Ibrox social media might get the impression that Steven Gerrard’s side are 13 points ahead of Celtic with an incredible conspiracy trying to deny them of the SPFL title with just eight matches left to play.
The reality is a little different. The longer that they go without playing the more incredible Gerrard’s trophy flops appear in the eyes of their followers. This phenomenon has been witnessed before during the close season and winter break.

Developments over the weekend with the SPFL vote confirmed most of the delusions. Out of the 42 clubs in the SPFL 33 voted in favour of confirming the current standings as the final places with prize money paid out.
Three votes were outstanding at 5pm on Friday but it was the one Championship vote that mattered most.
