Charlie Nicholas believes that Douglas Park wants the 2019/20 Premiership season declared Null and Void.

With Celtic sitting 13 points clear with eight matches left to play the SPFL has already obtained a mandate to award the Premiership title based on average points per game.

The process that obtained that vote from more than 80% of SPFL clubs has been under constant attack with Park calling for the suspension of Neil Doncaster and Rod McKenzie based on the evidence of his whistle-blower.

What the Ibrox club do want has been kept secret, club statements have asked for the season to be completed and not in games played behind closed doors.

The prospects of games being completed in front of fans appears remote. In Holland no matches will be played before September 1 while the Scottish Government won’t permit group training sessions before June 10.

Celtic have kept quiet as other clubs share their views through statements but today Nicholas accuses Park on looking to get the entire season erased from the record books.

The Daily Record reports:

Speaking in his Express column, Nicholas said: “Rangers need to stop whining and moaning like a baby. It is time to move on.

Ibrox chairman Douglas Park (has been) pushing for an independent inquiry into how the SPFL handled the lower-league vote, yet they don’t want to share any information they have on why they are questioning it.

“What exactly do they want? They don’t want Celtic winning the title, that much is clear. They want the season declared null and void to camouflage their own failures on the pitch.

“Celtic have done the best thing possible, which is staying out of the arguments because they don’t need to get involved and they also have the most to lose.

“I find it heart-breaking that so many influential figures and clubs have turned so negative at a time when our game is already on its knees.”

Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers have already been awarded their league titles and promotion.
