Celtic are reported to have completed the signing of young Australian striker Stefan Nikolic.

A report in The World Game explains the signing with Stefan’s dad, Roman, a member of the Red Star Belgrade squad that won the European Cup in 1991.

Tom Rogic has been Celtic’s star signing direct from Australia but over the last decade the hoops have also brought in Jackson Irvine, Nick Feely and Leo Mazis. Sixteen-year-old Nikolic is reported to have scored 36 goals in 25 matches this season for the Wanderers youth side.

In 2018 on the back of his appearances at the World Cup in Russia Daniel Arzani joined Celtic on a two year loan but his progress was halted by cruciate ligament damage on his debut.

Nikolic will go into the Celtic Development squad when he arrives with Tommy McIntyre’s squad short on striking options.

Jack Aitchison has been on loan at Forrest Green this season with Cameron Harper and Jonathan Afolabi the main striking options.

The World Game reports that Nikolic shares the same agency as Rogic which is headed by former internationalist Andy Bernal.
