Gareth McAuley and Jim White made the perfect morning combination for those grieving over Celtic’s latest title win.
For two years the TalkSPORT presenter has placed all his hope on Steven Gerrard ending Celtic’s domination which he has greeted through gritted teeth as a huge fan of Scottish football.
You don’t need to search too far to know where White’s heart lies in Glasgow, last season around the time of his 39th birthday McAuley contributed to Celtic’s Treble Treble success with a dozen or so games under Gerrard. After a Scottish Cup tie away to Cowdenbeath the Liverpool legend dropped McAuley in favour of Joe Worrall, Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic.
‘Hollow and Tainted’ is this week’s catchphrase, last week Ally McCoist and Alex Rae were hanging on to an asterisk as Celtic celebrated a ninth successive title triumph.
When Celtic watched the old Rangers club win 9-in-a-row in 1997 it had already cost Tommy Burns his job, caretaker boss Billy Stark made way at the end of the season.
After a long summer of speculation Wim Jansen came in to deliver the title Celtic fans craved. As McAuley and White bitch over Celtic’s title win they are overlooking the fact that retaining Gerrard at Ibrox is the surest way of ensuring that the SPFL title remains at Celtic for at least another 12 months.
Former @RangersFC defender Gareth McAuley has called the recent @CelticFC 9-in-a-row title “tainted and hollow.” He joins us on @talkSPORT at 11.30am.

Rangers fan and former player doesn’t approve of Celtics title? Hardly a shock is it. Ask him if thinks the EBT titles from the first rangers are tainted and hollow?

As much relevance to Rangers as a player as Gordon Ramsay

Jim can you please ask him how many medals he has won

Take the day off Jim ?

Jim you really must get sick of wheeling out all these ex rangers players to say how good rangers are, it’s getting really embarrassing now buddy… Times have changed, they’re a wee club now, I know it’s hard as a fan to admit, but times change

Then why did they vote for Celtic to be crowned champions? 13 clear… won the league by 9 last year. It was over by February…. dry your eyes Jim & Gareth & co!

You could also ask him if he felt guilty of taking a huge wage every week whilst only playing ten games. Only you went there to top up his pension fund. The man is totally irrelevant. How low is your show sinking. He’s totally irrelevant

Former rangers defender? You sure??
— Kev Tait (@tait_kev1984) May 26, 2020
How many games did this guy play for Rangers…and now all of a sudden he has an opinion on why Celtic shouldn’t be champions. Come on Jim, really, you are giving this nonsense airtime…don’t know who I feel more embarrassed for you or him.
